✨ Not the Trip We Planned, But the Peace We Needed

Reflections on a Canceled Dubai Journey

I pray you are doing well. I'm excited to share my first travel Blog!
Today was supposed to look very different.

Right now, I should be on an Emirates Business Class flight with my group, even planning to use my points to experience First Class for the very first time. Our bags would be checked, hugs already shared, and we’d be on our way to Dubai. For many of us, this wasn’t just another trip—it was something we had been looking forward to for months… a celebration, a moment, an experience we were ready to embrace.

But instead, I’m here—reflecting.
And if I’m honest… feeling both disappointed and deeply grateful at the same time.

💔 The Disappointment is Real

Let’s not sugarcoat it—this one hurt.
As a travel advisor, I pour my heart into every trip I plan. I think about the details, the experiences, the memories I know my clients are going to create. Dubai was going to be unforgettable—from the luxury experiences to the cultural moments to that beautiful time on the water together.

So yes… canceling this trip was not easy.
I know many of my clients rearranged schedules, invested financially, and emotionally prepared for this journey. And I felt that with you.

🙏🏾 But So Is the Gratitude

While we didn’t get the trip we planned… we received something even more important:

👉🏾 Safety
👉🏾 Peace of mind
👉🏾 The opportunity to travel another day

In times like this, I’m reminded that not every delay or cancellation is a loss. Sometimes, it’s protection.
Sometimes, it’s God stepping in and saying, “Not this time.”

And while we may not always understand it in the moment, we can trust that His plan is always greater than ours

What This Experience Reinforced

This situation reminded me—and hopefully my clients—of a few important things:

👉🏾 Travel is a blessing, not a guarantee
👉🏾 Having a trusted travel advisor matters (especially in uncertain times)
👉🏾 Travel insurance isn’t optional… It’s essential
👉🏾 Flexibility and faith go hand in hand when you travel internationally

As your travel advisor, my responsibility is always bigger than just booking a trip. It’s about protecting your experience, guiding you through uncertainty, and making decisions with your safety first—always.

🌍 Dubai… Until We Meet Again

Dubai is truly dear and near to my heart.
This would have been my fifth time visiting, and I was so excited—not just to return—but to share everything I’ve come to love about this incredible destination with my clients. From the culture to the luxury experiences to the unforgettable moments, I wanted you all to see Dubai the way I’ve experienced it over the years.
It means so much to me because I’ve built genuine connections there—relationships that go beyond business. Amazing tour managers like Lynette Rose have become a part of my extended travel family, helping me create meaningful and well-curated experiences for my clients.

That’s what made this trip even more special.
So yes, while we didn’t get to go this time… Dubai is still on my heart.
I am praying for Dubai. I am praying for peace, stability, and safety for everyone there. And I believe that this is not the end of our journey—it’s simply a delay.

👉🏾 We will go.
👉🏾 We will experience it together.
👉🏾 And when we do… it will be even more meaningful.

Until then, we wait with faith, gratitude, and expectation.

💛 A Final Thought

Life doesn’t always go according to our plans.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not going according to God’s plan.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

If this experience has taught me anything, it’s this:

Even when the trip gets canceled… the purpose never does.

👉🏾I’ll always be here. I realize traveling isn't pretty right now, but when you're ready to travel again, when the time is right.  I'd love to be your first email or call.
